The Mega Millions lottery jackpot is up to $586 million. That's the 4th largest in U.S. history. If no one buys the winning ticket for Tuesday's drawing. The jackpot could surpass last year's record and could reach the unheard of amount of $1 billion. Lottery officials say the current jackpot could be increased one more time before the drawing tomorrow night.

A prize that big has lottery hopefuls flocking to get tickets. But some Illinois residents are choosing to skip the store counter and play from the comfort of home, even on their cell phone. Online lottery sales started in the state last year and lottery officials say it's starting to pick up as another option for getting tickets, especially when there's a big jackpot like this.

Sales last week of Mega Millions through the Internet in Illinois were $445,000 up 110 percent from the previous week.
