Davenport Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Brady Street Crash


Davenport Police say they have made an arrest in connection to the fatal car crash that happened on Brady Street in the early hours of Tuesday, December 10, 2013.

Police say 22-year-old Charles James Williams of Davenport,was the driver of the 2008 Pontiac G6that crashed in the 3700 Block of Brady Street.

According to the police report, the vehicle was traveling north on Brady Street at a high rate of speed when Williams lost control and left the right side of the roadway.

The vehicle struck guy wires causing the vehicle to go airborn and come to rest against the front of a building located at 3707 Brady Street.

The passenger of the vehicle was identified as 47-year-old John Frost of Davenport.

John Frost was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

On Friday, December 20, 2013, Williams was arrested following his release from the hospital.

He is being charged with homicide by vehicle/OWI, operating while intoxicated/first offense, leaving the scene of death accident, failure to have valid license/permit while operating a motor vehicle and failure to maintain control of vehicle.

Williams is in custody at the Scott County Jail.
