'Tis the season to give and that's exactly what toys for toys distributors did today. 10,000 toys were distributed to close to 4,000 kids.

"We want to make sure that all the children in the area receive a Christmas this year," said Toys For Tots organizer, SSGT Matthew Starratt.  "Anybody who's in need. Who's struggling this year, or just struggling for the holidays. We're here to help."

The help is something recipient Jennifer Winterbottom says she could use. She's a mother of 3 who lost her job earlier this year and says she otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford presents for her family this Christmas.

"This is a big help for Christmas because it was hard to get Christmas presents. Thank God for my family and friends," said recipient Winterbottom.

Another mom of three, Isis Covington shares the same sentiments.  She says this Christmas wouldn't have been possible without the extra help.

"It's truly a blessing. It truly is.That's all I can say.  it's a big help for single moms doing it on their own," said Covington.

All the donations couldn't have been possible without help from the community and organizers thanked to Quad Citians.

"The whole community  around this area really is the main focus of all this. They really made it happen," said SSGT Starratt.
