Santa and the Davenport firefighters made a special stop at Genesis Medical Center.

The big man in red visited a few pediatrics patients who are there over the holiday. He brought toys and presents were purchased by the firefighters.

Santa says it's all about bringing smiles to the faces of those young patients.

"It's just a way for the Davenport fire department and the men and women of the organization to give back to the community and just let them know that they're thinking about them year round, not just when we're there helping them with emergencies," said Santa.

This is an annual event for Santa and the fire department but this year they say they are relived to see fewer children spending the holiday in the hospital.
