Davenport and Hilltop Work Together to Remove Snow, Help Businesses

Updated:

On Tuesday, Hilltop Campus Village Director Scott Tunnicliff said he's working with the city to make the area come alive again.

"I think our mission is to make sure our area is more inviting for shoppers, for consumers, for residents of the area," he said.

The city and the Hilltop say they're doing that by starting a new snow removal policy.

As of this winter -- the Hilltop will now be included with the downtown in the city's snow removal during snow emergencies.

In years past -- Hilltop's director said the streets and the sidewalks would get covered in so much snow -- it wasn't easy for shoppers or residents to get around the area.

A couple businesses on the Harrison Street Hilltop area said they're happy with the new policy. One restaurant owner said he had more traffic come through his diner that normally wouldn't have after a snow storm like we had this weekend.
