Car Crashes Into Rock Island House

The driver of a car left the roadway and crashed into a house in Rock Island overnight. Police were called to the home in the 1500 block of Big Island Parkway around 3 a.m. There, they found a damaged home, a car flipped and the 31-year-old driver thrown from the vehicle.

The man who lived inside the home was not hurt and tells TV6 that he didn't even hear the crash. He woke up when police started yelling into the house. He added that, if his daughters hadn't been staying with their mother, they would have been sleeping in the room that was destroyed by the impact.

The driver of the car has not been identified. Police suspect that alcohol was involved in the crash.

The American Red Cross of the Quad Cities is assisting the family.
