House Fire In Burlington - Update

Updated:

Update Jan. 3, 2014: The Burlington Fire Department says the investigation revealed "the fire is accidental with the most likely cause to be an electrical overload."

Original Post Dec. 27, 2013:

Firefighters spent several hours fighting a house fire on Summer Street in rural Burlington on Thursday, Dec. 26. They were called to the scene around 2:15 p.m., just south of the city limits. When firefighters arrived, the small wood frame house was engulfed in flames.

Several other departments helped bring in water and provide additional manpower. Once the fire was out, it was determined the house was a total loss.

The investigation into what caused the fire is not finished, but officials say it is not considered suspicious.
