Wilton Couple Killed In Georgia


A couple from Wilton, Iowa died in a wreck on a Georgia Interstate Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.

According to the highway patrol, the two vehicles involved were traveling south on Interstate 75 in Houston County when a Kia, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of the Ford Escape, which was slowing down for traffic. Both vehicles left the roadway and hit the guard rail.

The Ford overturned onto its right side. The driver, 64-year-old Kenneth Eugene Behrens of Wilton was thrown into the passenger seat during the rollover. Mr. Behrens and the passenger, 65-year-old Elaine Behrens were killed in the crash.

The driver of the Kia, 19-year-old Benjamin Blake of Harrison, Ohio, was not injured. 

Officials say charges are pending once the crash investigation is complete.
