UPDATE: Highway 61 Accident

UPDATE:  A young woman was taken to a hospital in Iowa city after a morning crash in Clinton County. The Iowa State Patrol says 21-year-old Karisa Woodside of Davenport was northbound in a Honda Civic on Highway 61 when she lost control while going over a bridge deck. Her car entered the median and rolled, landing on its wheels. Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car as it rolled over.

A MedForce helicopter landed on the highway and took her to University Hospitals in Iowa City for treatment of injuries.

UPDATE: The Iowa Department of Transportation has reopened the section on Highway 61 that was closed for an accident.

ORIGINAL: The Iowa State Patrol says Highway 61 at the Wapsipinicon River will be closed in a few minutes due to a serious accident. KWQC-TV6 is on the scene and will bring you more information on the News at Noon.
