NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LIM College, which is located in New York City and focused exclusively on the study of business and fashion, has received approval from the New York State Board of Regents to launch a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program in International Business. The first group of students admitted to the program will begin classes in Fall 2014.
The 127-credit program is designed to prepare students for careers in international business and participation in the global marketplace, with a particular emphasis on the fashion industry. The curriculum combines instruction in foundational elements of the fashion industry, core business competencies, the particulars of conducting business in a global environment, as well as liberal arts courses and an experiential (internship) component. Students will also be required to participate in an international experience, with options including: study abroad, cross-cultural trips, or internships with international organizations.
According to Elizabeth S. Marcuse, President of LIM College, "Our new B.S. in International Business was developed specifically to address the growing global economy and the internationalization of the fashion industry. It will prepare students for leadership roles in diverse companies in multinational markets, where career opportunities are robust and continuing to expand."
The program will introduce students to a wide range of global markets, economies, political systems, cultures, languages and customs. Graduates will be prepared to pursue careers in areas such as supply chain management, import/export compliance, buying, merchandising, sales and marketing, licensing, public relations, and foreign trade.
