The Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied a request for aid to local governments impacted by the tornadoes back in November, saying the damage was not severe enough to warrant federal aid.

"I'm disappointed, but we learned a lot in this process about what's allowable and what's not allowable in this financial process," said Washington Mayor Gary Manier.

The Federal Government has already given two million dollars for individuals across nine Illinois counties.

Governor Pat Quinn says he plans to appeal the decision. Manier says the cost to their particular city is about six million dollars.
