John Kutzli's workshop is in a small section of his studio apartment in Clinton. John is ninety two years old, and still is blessed with a steady hand and a creative mind.

John uses a pocket knife and Colorado Aspen Wood to create beautiful canes and walking sticks.  He uses a pencil to draw the designs on the wood.

John has designed hundreds of the canes and walking sticks in the last fifteen years. He gives them away to people at senior centers and walking clubs.

He made a walking stick for his wife Marilyn. It has a garden vegetable theme. John's walking stick has a tackle box, rod and reel, bobbers, and fish.

His fragile eyesight is certainly not a deterrent to his ability to work with wood.

He and his wife Marilyn also have quite the touch with stone. The two designed a piece of art featuring a church. It is made out of petrified wood.

John lives at Prairie Hills in Clinton, and has given several canes and walking sticks to the senior citizens living there.
