UPDATE: Davenport Woman Died From Hypothermia

The preliminary autopsy results of the physical examine performed on Karen Hebbeln, indicates the cause of death was hypothermia.  

The final results are pending the outcome of the toxicology and laboratory exam.  


The body found in Centennial Park on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 has been identified as 56-year-old Karen Hebbeln of Davenport.

Officials say an autopsy is pending.

Around January 21, 2014 at 3:57 p.m. SECC got a call from a citizen saying there was a possible body in Centennial Park east of the spray park.

Police confirmed that the body was a female located in the park and an investigation began.

The body has been removed from the scene and an autopsy will be scheduled. The name will not be released pending notification of the next of kin. 


Police have gathered at Centennial Park in Davenport near the Mississippi River where they have found a body. A half dozen police squad cars are parked between the spray park and the skate park and officers are putting up crime scene tape.
