The Charitable Giving Board of the Bettendorf Rotary Club announced the awarding of $23,000 to 14 non-profit projects that serve the Quad City community.

"We received 29 grant requests for amounts totaling $57,375," said Jeff Hassel, Chair of the BRC Charitable Giving Board in a release. "Thanks to our most successful Lobsterfest yet, the total amount awarded represented 40% of the final amount requested. We hope our next THE National Bank Lobsterfest on June 14th enables us to reach this level of support for 2014."

These are the groups that received parts of the grant money:

  • American Red Cross of the Quad Cities - awarded $2,500
  • Asbury United Methodist Church - awarded $1,500
  • Community Health Care, Inc. - awarded $1,550
  • Family Museum Foundation - awarded $1,000
  • Family Resources - awarded $2,500
  • From Cover to Cover - awarded $1,000
  • Hand in Hand - awarded $2,200
  • Lydia Home - awarded $2,500
  • Nahant Marsh Education Center - awarded $1,000
  • Project Renewal - awarded $2,500
  • The Shining Stars Dance Team - awarded $250
  • TRU (Trees R Us) - awarded $1,000
  • United Neighbors, Inc - awarded $1,000
  • Vera French Community Mental Health Center - awarded $2,500
