Whether steam or diesel, Jerry Lundeen of Moline gets fired up about his model railroad.

Jerry has a thirty by forty foot layout. He is the operator of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad.

The layout features the Denver Zephyr, a passenger train leaving from Lincoln, Nebraska and destined for Chicago.

As a kid, Jerry used to ride the railroad with his uncle. His uncle was an Express Agent for the railroad. Jerry would ride with him from Rock Island to Savanna.

Jerry's layout has a 1940's look. Passenger and freight trains crossing bridges or zipping by large cities.

His railroad includes industrial scenes and large cities. Farmers at harvest time, and so much more.

It took Lundeen twelve years to build the layout. He did all the electrical work.

Yes, indeed. When the track needs to be cleaned, Jerry is the man.

Riding the rails. Jerry Lundeen absolutely loves it!
