Expansion Plans For Tipton Company

Posted: Updated:

There's a good chance some of your discarded plastic bottles and jugs are headed to China and helping a company in Tipton, Iowa, grow.

Cedar Poly announced Friday plans to expand its facility in Tipton. The expansion includes the purchase of an additional four acres in the Tipton Business Park and the construction of a 60,000 square foot building.

Cedar Poly is a plastic recycling processing company that employs 42 people and keeps 40,000 tons of plastic from going to the landfill each year. About half of the material goes to China.

The expansion will double the company's size and create up to five new jobs.
