Woman Dies After Car Hits Bus In Moline-UPDATED

UPDATE: Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson has released information concerning the fatal accident on Monday morning in Moline.

Gustafson says the driver who died in the accident was 73-year-old Sharon F. Hensley of Milan, Ill.

He says Hensley died as the result of a massive cardiac event.

ORIGINAL: A woman is dead after a traffic accident on John Deere Expressway in Moline, Ill.

Police were called to the intersection of 60th Street and John Deere Expressway around 8:15 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014.

Police say a car driven by the female victim was traveling eastbound on John Deere when it struck a northbound Metro Link bus in the intersection.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

After the initial impact, the bus veered into the westbound lane and struck another car and a van.

Police say these vehicles were damaged, but the drivers weren't injured.

The driver of the Metro Link bus was taken to the hospital.

His condition is unknown.

The crash remains under investigation.

Police say this was the first 2014 traffic fatality for Moline Police.
