With plenty of winter left, there are still many of Quad City kids without a proper winter coat. You can help fill that need next time you shop or clean a closet.

Drop off any new or gently-used coat at K & K Hardware in Bettendorf.

This is the second year for K & K's "Coats For Kids" drive to help children bundle up during this bitter cold winter.

"We're getting close to the end of the season," Kortney Gaura, K & K Hardware office manager said. "People can buy coats on sale or their kids have outgrown coats and especially this winter, there's been really a huge number of requests for coats for kids so we would love to help them out."

This year the hardware store is hoping to collect 160 donated coats.

Last year, they gave out 148 coats to kids in need. They're collecting all month long.
