Posted: Updated:

A 7-foot bronze statue of a young Ronald Reagan as a lifeguard has been unveiled by Dixon City Officials. The statue will stand in Lowell Park, the former beach where Reagan served as a lifeguard from 1927-1933.

Omri Amrany and Gary Tillery of Rotblatt-Amrany Studio will complete the work. They have sculpted statues of Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and many other well-know figures.

The project will cost $200,000 with funds raised from private donors according to Mayor Jim Burke.
