Silvis Police Investigating Deadly Car/Pedestrian Crash-Update

Update 2-10:14: The Rock Island County Coroner has released the name of the woman who was killed in the crash as 54-year-Deborah L. Goodwin of Silvis. She died of multiple traumatic injuries. No other information has been released.

One woman is dead, a man arrested after a fatal car/pedestrian traffic crash. 

Silivs police responded to the John Deere Road westbound on ramp from route 84 accident scene just after 3 Sunday morning.

They say a 54-year old Silvis woman was hit by a car and killed in the crash.  She was discovered dead upon the officer's arrival.  Her name is withheld pending notification of family. 

The driver of the 2006 Dodge Charger involved in the crash was arrested and jailed for Aggravated DUI and Driving while license suspended.  Moses Clemente, of Silvis,  is being held without bond in the RICO jail.  The case will be reviewed by the RICO State Attorney's office on Monday and formal charges considered.  Case facts are still being determined as this investigation continues. 

Silvis PD is being assisted by a traffic crash reconstructionist from the Illinois State Police and the RICO coroner's office.  Silvis Fire, East Moline police and RICO sheriff's deputies assisted on scene with traffic control and other Silvis police service calls.  John Deere Road was closed to westbound traffic from Route 84 to Crosstown Avenue from 3 a.m. until 1030 a.m. for crash investigation.
