Update 2-18-14: The driver of the Davenport Citibus, Rose Torres, involved in the crash on 2-13-14 at Locust and Grand Ave, involving a Ford Fusion, a City Bus and structural damage to 1825 Grand Ave, was cited for Failure to Yield Left Turn and No Seatbelt.

Update 2-14-14:  Davenport police have released more information on how a public transit bus crashed into a house at Grand Ave. and E. Locust St. The CitiBus #2502 was traveling westbound on Locust on the inside lane. As it was approaching the intersection at Grand, the bus made a left turn to go south on Grand. As it was turning, it was struck on the right side by an eastbound Ford Fusion. The bus then hit the house on Grand.

The driver of the bus was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Fusion and a 2-year-old child were also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police say the driver of the Ford Fusion was wearing her seat belt and her child was properly secured in a forward facing child seat located in the center back seat.

Evidence is still being reviewed and charges are pending in the investigation.

Update 2-13-14:   Three people have been taken to the hospital. Two people are from the passenger car and one from the bus. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Original 2-13-14:

Davenport police are on the scene of an accident involving a CitiBus mass transit bus that crashed into a house. It happened around 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at E. Locust St. near Grand Ave.

There is also a Ford passenger car with significant damage at the same location.

TV six has received eyewitness accounts that there were people on board the bus, but we don't know if anyone was hurt.

We have a crew at the scene and will report on KWQC-TV6 news at 5 and 6.
