An accident involving a school bus has sent some students to the hospital in Warren County, Ill.

The incident happened around 7:00 a.m., approximately two and a half miles north of Monmouth on US 67.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office say a north bound vehicle apparently lost control on the snow covered road, and crossed into the path of a south bound United School Bus

The car slid off the road, but  the bus remained upright on the road.

The driver and sole occupant of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to the hospital. Their condition is not known.

The Sheriff's office says some students on the bus complained of neck or back pain, and were transported from the scene by ambulance.

The remaining students were placed on another bus and taken to United High School.

Once at the school, another student complained of a head ache and was taken in an ambulance to the hospital.

The conditions of the injured students are not known.
