UPDATE

Kevin Austin Achey, 27 of Davenport, has been arrested for the bank robbery at U.S. Bank in Davenport.

Achey handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and to give him all the money in the drawer. He left the bank on foot and was apprehended a short distance away. No one was injured.              

Achey was charged with 2nd Degree Robbery, Iowa Code 711.3, a Class "C" felony and transported to the Scott County Jail.

Police in Davenport responded to a downtown bank robbery early Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the U.S. Bank location at 201 2nd St., just before 1:00 p.m. and searched the scene.

Officials say responding officers searched the area and at 1:03 p.m. a suspect was taken into custody without incident.
