The United Way of the Quad Cities has announced the results of its most recent campaign drive. They took in more than $8.4-million through more than 20-thousand people who donated to the cause.

United Way supports multiple agencies that reach out to those in need.

"Well I think we always hope for more than we get. This basically puts it at a holding steady kind of rate but it will still touch thousands of Quad Citians and make a difference in their lives," United Way campaign co-chair John Riches said. "I think it's important every live we touch, every time have an opportunity to make some ones life for the better it makes a big difference for the community overall."

The $8-million pledged will help about 90 programs throughout the Quad Cities.
