School Bus Rear Ended In Hancock County

Officials say no one was hurt when a school bus was rear-ended in Hancock County.

The accident happened on Tuesday morning, February 25, 2014, at 7:29.

A LaHarpe School District 347 school bus was stopped on the Webster Road at the railroad tracks near Hancock County Road 2400n, to make sure it was safe to cross.  

Officials say a car driven by 28-year-old Travis Sanderson from Carthage, Ill. approached the bus, was unable to stop and slammed into it.

According to the report, the car had major front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The bus had minor damage.

Sanderson was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
