Posted: Updated:

A long time John Deere Classic volunteer is being honored by the PGA TOUR and is a top-five finalist for PGA TOUR Volunteer of the Year for 2013.

Linda Little started volunteering at the JDC in 1975 and currently serves as a media shuttle driver, transporting print, online and broadcast journalists to and from the offsite parking during tournament week.

Little is a breast cancer survivor who even worked the tournament before her surgery in 2001.

"Linda Little epitomizes the commitment, dedication and positive attitude characteristic of all 1,500 of our John Deere Classic volunteers," said John Deere Classic tournament director Clair Peterson in a release.  "And the fact that she has been doing it for almost 40 years is truly remarkable.

Little, a Port Byron native, also volunteers for Gilda's Club and the Bethel Baptist Quilters.
