It's a big weekend for girls in Illinois with the state basketball championship and three local teams are going. Family, friends, students and the community went to see off the Prophetstown Lady Prophets.

It's the first time the team has ever been to state. The school held a huge pep rally and at the center of it all, the coach.

Don Robinson's been with the district for 37 years, just waiting for a chance at state.

"We may be the shortest team in the tournament but the two qualities I think is we can play together and I've been after them all year to be mentally smart playing the game," Robinson said. "I say maybe we can't beat them with our physicality but maybe we can beat them with our brains. So hopefully we can play disciplined basketball and get a lead and hopefully play keep away."

Prophetstown plays on February 28th at 8:15 p.m.
