Experiencing sticker shock at the price of gas? Well it may be getting much worse, particularly in the natural gas market.

MidAmerican said that due to a high demand for natural gas across the U.S., market prices have increased and are expecting the March 2014 price to be approximately 25 percent greater than the February 2014 gas supply charge.

In a release MidAmerican said, "The cost of natural gas is passed through dollar-for-dollar on customers' bills without any markup by MidAmerican Energy. Because of this natural gas cost increase, MidAmerican Energy wants its customers to be prepared for the possibility of higher-than-normal utility bill amounts so customers can adjust their current usage, budget for the expense, and/or utilize the company's assistance programs or payment options."

Those with concerns can call MidAmerican customer service at 888-427-5632.
