Governor Quinn To Announce State Aid For Tornado Relief

Posted: Updated:

Illinois residents impacted by the tornado outbreaks last year will soon see some aid from the state.

Governor Pat Quinn will announce $45 million in state relief funding to help local governments recover from the deadly outbreaks

He is scheduled to make the official announcement in Washington, Illinois Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014.

Quinn says he directed all state agencies to assemble a relief package to help communities rebuild.

He says he will not let the federal decision to deny aid leave citizens behind.

Quinn will speak at 11:15 a.m. at the Tractor Supply Company in Washington.

He was recently in Washington D.C. promoting a plan to improve the federal disaster assistance formula.
