UPDATE 3-12-14: The Mercer County Sheriff's Office says an autopsy determined the cause of death and no foul play is suspected.  No other information was released.

Alvarez was found near 1014 Fairway Lane in Sherrard, just off the Fyre Lake Golf Course. As of 4:20PM on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Jeff Dale in Mercer County, is declining to comment beyond a press release, but did say the death is being considered unusual.

This is because Alvarez went missing and was found dead in a different county.

A autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

According to Deputy Chief Dale, those results could be available by Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE: The Mercer County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of a body found in Sherrard on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

The body was later identified as 55-year-old Alberto Alvarez who was listed as missing on Sunday.

According to the sheriff's office, the case remains under investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the Mercer County Coroner and the Rock Island Police Department.

Stay tuned to KWQC-TV6 and kwqc.com for updates as we receive them.
