Update: Body Found Near Rochelle, IL

Update: On Thursday, March 13th, 2014 Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies positively identified the body that was located on Monday, March 10th, 2014 as Phillip M. Rainwater, age 32, of Rochelle. At this time no signs of foul play were discovered and the investigation remains open. During the course of the investigation family members said they believed Rainwater had moved to southern Illinois around January 1st, 2014.

A man's body was found in a stream near Rochelle, Illinois and authorities are asking for help in identifying the man. The Ogle County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating the discovery of body of a 35-50 year old man with an approximate height of 5'6" to 5'8", weighing approximately 200 pounds and appears to be either Caucasian or Hispanic. The man had black, medium-length hair and a short growth of facial hair. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark T-shirt and blue jeans with a woven leather belt and blue athletics shoes.

The sheriff says there are no current reports of missing adults within the county. Anyone with information that would assist in identifying the man is asked to contact the Ogle County Sheriff's Office at (815) 732-6666.
