Two From QC Advance For Gold In Paralympics

Posted: Updated:

The Quad Cities is well-represented in this year's paralympic games with Andy Yohe of Bettendorf and 24-year-old Kevin McKee of Davenport. Yohe lost his legs in a train accident when he was a teen. McKee has been disabled from the waist down since birth. This is McKee's first time in the paralympic games.

"I always watched hockey and we went down there and tried it out. And I fell in love with it getting on the ice," Mckee said during an interview with KWQC TV6 in December.

"Oh, we're thrilled to death," his father Brian McKee said. "The whole family is. He's worked really hard a huge portion of his life and we're just excited for him." he added.

So while team USA goes for the gold against Russia on March 15, the Quad Cities will be especially cheering for Kevin McKee and Andy Yohe.
