Niabi Zoo Set To Open For The Season With New Additions

Posted: Updated:

Niabi Zoo will soon be opening its gates for another season.

Opening day is scheduled for Monday, April 7 and until April 18, admission is free.

Niabi Zoo Director Marc Heinzman says there are plenty of new attractions for people to come out and see.

There's a new male red wolf that's been brought from Fresno, California.

He'll join the female red wolf, Ruby, in hopes that they will breed.

There's also a new female snow leopard from Albuquerque, New Mexico and a female baby Black and White Colobus monkey that was born at Niabi in December.

Heinzman says the zoo will also offer new public feeding demonstrations in the Reptile House this year as part of its ongoing, free education program.

Zoo hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
