Update:

Lottery officials say someone purchased a winning quick pick ticket from this store/gas station in Merritt Island, Florida. The winner will split the $400 million jackpot with another winner, who officials say purchased the ticket in Maryland.

The jackpot is the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. History and is the third largest Mega millions prize.

The Illinois Lottery is announcing that another Mega jackpot has amassed in it's Mega Millions game:

Illinoisans are hoping to score some luck this St. Patrick's Day with Mega Millions' $400 million jackpot. The jackpot rolled Friday night and its estimated $400 million prize is the third-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.

The winning numbers from Friday's drawing were: 07 - 20 - 40 - 54 - 69 and the Mega Ball was 12. The current jackpot has been growing since January 7 and has rolled 20 times without a grand-prize winner. While no one won Friday's jackpot, over 193,000 Illinoisans won prizes ranging from $5,000 to $3.

Illinois residents 18 and over who want to try their luck on the game can purchase their Mega Millions, Powerball and Lotto tickets by using the Illinois Lottery's new mobile app. The free app is available for download on iOS and Android devices and is the first of its kind in the United States offering any Illinois adult the chance to purchase lottery tickets via an app. Players can also purchase their tickets online at www.illinoislottery.com <http://www.illinoislottery.com> or at more than 8,200 retailers across the state.

The $400 million jackpot can be attributed in part to changes made to Mega Millions this past October that include larger starting jackpots, a minimum $1million second prize, and new matrixes of 1-75 for the first five numbers and 1-15 for the Mega Ball number. One thing that did not change is the price of a Mega Millions ticket: which starts at $1.

Since Illinois introduced its first multi-state lottery game, Mega Millions (previously the Big Game) has contributed over $1 billion to the Illinois Common School Fund and Capital Projects Fund.
