UPDATE: Crews expect to have the water turned back on around 5:00 p.m. On Tuesday.

Officials say once water service is restored, customers in the following areas will be under a precautionary boil advisory until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 until water quality tests can confirm the water meets or surpasses all federal and state water quality regulations:

--600-800 blocks of Pershing Avenue  
--600-800 blocks of Perry Street  
--200-300 blocks of E. 7th Street  
--200 block of E. 9th Street  
--Palmer College Research Building at 741 Brady Street  
--723 Brady Street   

All affected customers are being notified by Iowa American Water.

As a precautionary measure, water to be used for cooking or consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before use.

ORIGINAL: Iowa American Water is reporting a water main break in the 700 block of Pershing Street in Davenport.

The company has a crew on site making repairs.

There is no word as to how long the repairs will take.
