Student Art At The Figge

Posted: Updated:

Some area fifth grade students got a surprise when they went on their annual trip to the Figge Museum where they saw their own artwork was displayed.

The students are from Mrs. Rannfeldts' class, at Washington Elementary. They worked for two months creating their pop art which is art based on something popular in their culture. That's how "rubber-band-boozling" came to life.

"That was very exciting because I had never been in here before, with any of my artwork, and I was very happy to see it and it looks like that cause last time I saw it wasn't really done like that," 5th grader Mackenzie Brown said.

It's the teacher's chair that is now covered in knitting and rubber bands.

The teacher herself says she's glad she can show her students the whole process of working on a piece and then having it on display.
