Gardeners Waiting To Plant In The QC

Posted: Updated:

A lot of homeowners haven't been able to plant around their house or in their gardens. These cold temps are stopping Quad City residents to get their supplies on their spring time plants.

One Quad City businessman says in order for your flowers to blossom weather has to stay consistently warm.

"We need a good week of 50-60 weather to the where the consumer is comfortable to go outside and do things outside and we can't even get that this year," Green Thumbers owner Andy Kay said. "We need that good long streak of good weather, these cold days and cold nights really discourage anyone from getting out and getting anything done."

He says shipping vendors have also limited their shipments because it's either too cold to ship the plants or they are still frozen to the ground.
