Pit Bull Bites Davenport Officer

A Davenport police officer is recovering from two dog bites after responding to a call of that the dog was attacking a front door of a home.

Police were called to the 900th block of East Sixth Street of a pit bull stopping the homeowner from leaving their house. Police say the officers attempted to secure the fence gate but the dog jumped over the fence. That is when the dog bit one of the officers.
     
The dog is in Scott County Animal Control custody. The officer was transported to Genesis East Medical Center, treated and released. The investigation is on-going.
