    Rock Island County Democrats chose their sheriff candidate for the November ballot.Their choice, current interim Sheriff Gerry Bustos.The decision comes just days after Bustos was sworn in as Sheriff to fill the void left by Sheriff Jeff Boyd. He resigned last week after pleading guilty to a charge of attempted official misconduct.It was related to a cyberstalking investigation. It was a triumphant homecoming for members of the USA paralympic sled hockey team with two players hailing from the Quad Cities. One returned home earlier in March and the other got back this past Friday, March 29, 2014.

On Saturday, friends and family members gathered at Rookies Sports Bar in Davenport to salute gold medalist, Kevin McKee. He teamed up with Bettendorf native, Andy Yohe, in Sochi, Russia. The pair helped team USA get past Canada before topping Russia in the gold medal game on March 15th.

A graduate of North Scott High School, McKee says it was a once-in-a-life time experience.

"It's just a great feeling knowing that we got to get to that Gold Medal game, which was our goal the whole year. I think my favorite memory was hearing the National Anthem and singing it with my teammates and definitely seeing the USA flag in the middle so that was awesome knowing that we were Number one again and that we did it again," McKee said.

During a homecoming celebration on March 20, Yohe had a lot to say about Kevin.

"Sochi was an amazing experience. Just going to Russia, we didn't know what to expect and we'd heard so much stuff in the media that it wasn't the best. Once we got there the Russians had done a great job. it was incredible to be able to share the experience with Kevin Mckee. He's been around sled hockey longer than I have. He's always been so excited to be part of team and to be there for his first paralympics was very special," Yohe added.

Yohe also stopped by the party to congratulate Kevin. Family members say they're happy Kevin's back home.
