The deadline to sign up for government health insurance is fast approaching.

Tonight, Monday, at midnight, the marketplace will be closing.

Anyone who needs to sign up will need to do so by then or face penalties.

Healthcare navigators around the Quad Cities are trying to help people get signed up but they say that's been difficult over the past couple weeks.

Simply because the web site can't handle the traffic of people trying to beat the deadline.

But it's something everybody is trying to deal with right now.

"It's very frustrating for me and for people who come for help," says healthcare navigator, Jennifer Busch. "It's difficult for me to help them but I am trying to at least help them create an account if they haven't already done that, which would put them in line."

People who can at least create and account on healthcare.gov by midnight on 3/31, will have more time.

According to President Obama, those who have gotten an account by then, will have until April 15 to complete the purchase of a plan.

And with the amount of questions, navigators in the Quad Cities say, that extra time isn't a bad thing.

"It's frustrating for myself, the navigator and the consumer," says Laurie Zimmerman, another navigator helping in Davenport. "For me, you feel bad because the person who made the appointment to come in here. A lot of people take off work.... And then couldn't completely enroll because the web site wasn't working."
