Medical Examiner Releases Maquoketa Shooter's Cause Of Death

Officials say the suspect in the officer involved shooting earlier this week died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 30-year-old Aaron Edward Scott of Wyoming, Iowa was in an altercation in Maquoketa, Iowa where a police officer was shot.

Scott fled the scene and about 30 minutes later, police found his pickup flipped in a ditch near Lost Nation, Iowa.

After an autopsy was performed, the office of the Iowa Medical Examiner says Aaron Scott's cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was suicide.
