Fine dining delivered right to your door is becoming an increasingly popular option and now it's happening in Galesburg.  It's the first of its kind in that city.  The company, 'eatGburg' is partnering with area restaurants that don't offer delivery. The service is still in its beta testing phase and owners are just testing how well its received from the community.  So far, four restaurants are on board.  Managers at one of those restaurants say they've already started to see a boost in their bottom lines.

" I think this will be a welcome addition because we've got a bunch of different restaurants not just one restaurant that they can deliver," said C & R Smokehouse BBQ owner, Cornelius Stanley.

Cornelius Stanley has worked in the restaurant industry in Galesburg for over 17 years. He says only a few places deliver in town and that's why he says partnering with 'eatGburg' was a smart business move.  Stanley says since joining forces with 'eatGburg', he's already noticed a ten percent increase is business and he's hoping it continues to grow.

"It seemed like it would be good exposure because we don't have enough staff to deliver," said Stanley. " I'd like to see 20-25 percent. Higher if we can. It would make for a lot more exposure. A lot more increased foot traffic in and out. And hopefully a lot of new customers that haven't tried us. If they get the service maybe they'll come in and try us.

Jeremy Karlin dines in at C & R's Smokehouse every two weeks and says he's likely to eat more BBQ because of the delivery service. " There are times when we want BBQ from C & R's and it would just be more convenient if it was delivered to our house," explained Karlin.   "It fills a need for delivery service for food.

Other residents say it would help keep money flowing into the Galesburg economy. "We have a lot of really good restaurants in Galesburg. anything that gets us to  spend our money is a good thing for Galesburg," said Kristin Larson.
