Fatal Motorcycle Accident Near Goose Lake, Iowa-UPDATED

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office says one person died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night, April 5, 2014.

Deputies were called to the scene in the 3800 block of Highway 136, around two miles east of Goose Lake, Iowa, around 7:19 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle lying on the south side of the road.

Officials say the operator, 41-year-old Jonathan Nash of Clinton, Iowa was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police day Nash was traveling eastbound on Highway 136 when he drifted off the travel portion of the road on a curve, entered the south side ditch, lost control and was thrown from his motorcycle.

The incident remains under investigation.
