Quinn Touts Housing Program In Moline

Posted: Updated:

A new housing program in Illinois could help first-time homebuyers. Governor Pat Quinn is touring the state to talk about the "Welcome Home Illinois" program which included a stop in Moline.
The idea is to help with down payments and low interest rates.

Quinn says it will not only help potential home-owners but our local economies.

"It's so important for an economy, fuel the economy, homeowners are part of the neighborhood, they have a stake in the neighborhood, they buy local goods and services from local merchants," Quinn said.

Interest rates could be as low as 3.75% for a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage.
