Investigators have made an arrest in connection with a string of fires in the Galesburg and Williamsfield, Ill. area.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office says there have been a series of arsons where hay bales and grassy areas were set on fire mainly in the Williamsfield area.

During the investigation, officials learned of two dumpster fires in Galesburg, Ill. that were ruled arson.

Working with the Galesburg Police and Fire Departments, the Sheriff's Office was able to identify a suspect.

On April 17, 2014, officials reported they had arrested 24-year-old Blake T. Walsh of Williamsfield.

Investigators say Walsh is a volunteer firefighter for the Williamsfield Fire Department.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
