UPDATE: Police say 47-year-old Lisa L. McCormick of Walcott, Iowa was arrested at the scene.

She was charged with OWI 3rd offense and control of vehicle.

Records show she was released into self custody pending a court hearing.

ORIGINAL: Police say the woman who drove her car up a pole Monday morning in Davenport is ok after the accident.

Police responded to the call around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Orchard and South Concord Street in west Davenport.

They say a woman and her dog were in the car at the time of the accident and neither was injured.

MidAmerican Energy also responded to the scene and found no immediate problems with the wires attached to the power line pole. A company employee did call in assistance though in case the pole were to crack.

Two towing company workers also feared that could happen as they prepared to remove the car from the pole and the down guy wires it was resting on. But at about 4:20 a.m., workers successfully removed the car from the pole.

Police would not immediately comment on whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.
