Myron D. Cureton, the man sought in the Sterling home invasion, turned himself into the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department on a warrant for the Home Invasion offense.

The other man is still at large.

The Sterling Police Department is looking for a Chicago man and his accomplice after a home invasion in the town on Sunday, April 20, 2014.

It occurred around 5:44 a.m., when Sterling P.D. responded to the 800 block of Avenue D. After an investigation, Myron D. Cureton, 36 of Chicago, and his accomplice, described as a black male, thin build less than 5'11 tall, forced their way into a home.

Cureton showed a firearm, made a demand and caused minor injuries to the occupant of the residence after a struggle in the home.

The two left the area in a gray minivan. A warrant is out for Cureton for Home Invasion, a Class X Felony. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Cureton and the identity of the accomplice are asked to call 815-632-6640 or Whiteside County CRIMESTOPPERS at 815-625-7867.
