Iowa Tuition Freeze Passes House & Senate For Second Straight Year

Posted: Updated:

Iowa universities will be able to freeze tuition for a second-straight year.

The Iowa House and Senate approved a $986 million budget late Wednesday night.

The measure is now on the governor's desk.

The spending plan includes four percent funding increases for Iowa's three public universities.

Plus an additional $2.6 million for the University of Northern Iowa, which has more students paying in-state tuition than the other schools.

The bill also increases general aid to community colleges.
