Discussing Nursing Home "Bill of Rights" In QC

Discussing the rights of nursing home residents in Illinois as officials chose Saint Anthony's Nursing and Rehab in Rock Island as the first stop in a statewide tour.

They're promoting the nursing home residents "bill of rights."

"We're very grateful for these residents and their families and the nursing home staff, who have gathered here and are lending their support to bring about good government to urge those in the general assembly to vote for and support the formation of the nursing home residents bill of rights," Senior Advisor to the Healthcare Council of Illinois, Alan Gaffner said.

The legislation would put in consumer protections for people living in nursing homes, giving them a say in their care, along with family and doctor involvement.

Residents added their signatures.
