A former Davenport North High School teacher and coach has been sentenced to ten years in prison.

Daniel Schneiderman pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation, harassment, and telephone dissemination last month. He was accused of sending sexually explicit pictures and text messages to a student and sexually abusing another student.

At his sentencing hearing, Schneiderman said he regrets what he did.

"There isn't a day that goes by I wish I could change what happened," Schneiderman said. "I failed on so many levels. I failed as a father, a husband, a friend, a teacher and role model for students and athletes."

Once released, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
